Pay Property Taxes Pay Your Vehicle tags
Discover, MasterCard and Visa eCheck are accepted for Internet transactions.
Property Taxes:
Pay your property taxes electronically: by eCheck or credit card through the Pay Property Tax link. If you choose to pay your property tax by eCheck, you will be asked to enter a receipt number as your PIN. Your receipt number is the last 5 digits as shown in the sample below. The receipt number is found in the upper right corner of your tax statement. Example: 07/08 10-123456. If you choose to pay in-office, you can pay by cash, check, debit or credit card. When paying in-office by debit or credit card, service fees are applied. Please note that driver's license transactions can only be paid by check or cash at this time. Tax sale redemptions cannot be paid online. You must come to the office to redeem a tax sale.
Vehicle Renewals:
You are not eligible to renew online unless you received a renewal notice through the US Postal Service that contains a PIN number for online renewals.If you have lost this notice, you can obtain the PIN by calling or emailing our office. Half year license, apportioned vehicles, proof of SR22 insurance required, any state debts owed, or some specialty plates cannot be renewed online.
Driver's License:
In an effort to ensure the safety of citizens, Congress passed the REAL ID Act of 2005. The Act modified federal law pertaining to security, authentication, and issuance procedure standards for state's driver's licenses and identification cards.The Iowa DOT began issuing cards with the compliant marking on January 15, 2013.
