Property Taxes:
Pay your property taxes electronically: by eCheck or credit card  through the Pay Property Tax link.  If you choose to pay your property tax by eCheck, you will be asked to enter a receipt number as your PIN.  Your receipt number is the last 5 digits as shown in the sample below.  The receipt number is found in the upper right corner of your tax statement.  Example:  07/08 10-123456.    If you choose to pay in-office, you can pay by cash, check, debit or credit card. When paying in-office by debit or credit card, OR online, service fees are applied.       Tax sale redemptions cannot be paid online.  You must come to the office to redeem a tax sale. 

Vehicle Renewals: 
You are not eligible to renew online unless you received a renewal notice through the US Postal Service that contains a PIN number for online renewals.If you have lost this notice, you can obtain the PIN by calling or emailing our office. Half year license, apportioned vehicles, proof of SR22 insurance required, any state debts owed, or some specialty plates cannot be renewed online. Acceptable payment methods are similar to the ones used for paying property taxes.

Driver’s License:
In an effort to ensure the safety of citizens, Congress passed the REAL ID Act of 2005. The Act modified federal law pertaining to security, authentication, and issuance procedure standards for state's driver's licenses and identification cards.The Iowa DOT began issuing cards with the compliant marking on January 15, 2013. To learn more about the new REAL ID Act, please log on to: http://www.iowadotdov/mvd/realid/home.html       You can either renew your driver’s license in the office or online; however online renewals may have certain restrictions.  If questions, please call or email this office.     Acceptable payment methods are similar to paying property taxes.

I would like to welcome you to the Harrison County Treasurer’s home page.    I constantly search for new and  innovative ways to provide more efficient services to the citizens of Harrison County. My hope is the website will make contacting our office easier and more convenient with access to information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you think we will be closed on a certain holiday, please call ahead before you come to the office.

The courthouse has a handicapped entrance on the west side of the building.

The property tax and motor vehicle departments are open 8 to 4:30 M-F. The office does not close for lunch.

Driver License is open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; however, if you're planning to be here during the lunch hour time, please call ahead to make sure staff will be available. The Driver License number is 712-644-2371.
