Discover, MasterCard, Visa and eCheck (electronic funds transfer) are accepted for Internet transactions. This service will deliver your property tax and / or motor vehicle payment to the country treasurer on your behalf. Discover is the only credit card that may be used for transactions done in the office. We also have a drop box for Treasurer’s Office and Clerk of Court business on the back side of the courthouse, near the Sheriff’s Office entrance.

Pay Property Taxes
You may pay your property tax by eCheck or credit card through this Pay Property Taxes Link. If paying by eCheck you will need to enter a receipt number as your PIN. This number is located in the lower left hand corner of your tax stub. Past due tax payments are accepted also. Please contact the County Treasurer for payment of Tax Sale Certificates as they may NOT be redeemed over the internet site. A surcharge of $15 will be assessed for a dishonored check, draft, eCheck or order as prescribed in Iowa Code.
Pay Your Vehicle Tags
You may renew online if you received a renewal notice through the US Postal Service that contains a PIN number. Click on this link. Accepted online payment methods are eCheck, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Online service is not available if the vehicle registration fees are past due, proof of SR22 insurance is required or any state debts are owed. An enhancement is in development to allow renewal of delinquent vehicles and half year licenses. A surcharge of $15 will be assessed for a dishonored check, draft, eCheck or order as prescribed in Iowa Code.

- Office Hours: Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Drivers License: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drive tests and written tests are offered until 3 p.m. CDL and Motorcycles drives are NOT offered in Ida County. Check or cash are the only forms of payment accepted for a Drivers License.

From the stoplights on Hwy 175 & 59 proceed south to the 4-way stop on 2nd Street downtown and continue 2 more blocks south. Turn left and go 2 blocks east. The courthouse is at the top of the hill. The Treasurer’s Office is located in the north annex of the building. Handicapped parking is available on the south and east sides of the courthouse.

The goal of the County Treasurer’s Office is to perform our duties and responsibilities as stated in the code of Iowa as well as provide quality and courteous customer service in all our departments--property tax, Motor Vehicle titling and registration and Driver Licensing.
