INFORMATION FOR SKILLS TESTS:

When Scheduling an Operator or Motorcycle Skills test with our office please be sure to bring your current insurance and registration in with you when you check in. Also be sure your vehicle can be used for the exam.

Prepare Your Vehicle

Before you begin the drive test, the vehicle you bring must pass an inspection to ensure it is safe and can be legally operated on public roadways. The customer service representative will check for:

• Two license plates permanently affixed to the front and back of the vehicle. Single out-of-state or temporary plates will be accepted.
• A properly functioning horn
• Functioning turn signals on the front and back of the vehicle
• Unexpired vehicle registration
• Unexpired insurance
• At least one rearview mirror inside or outside of the vehicle
• Driver and front passenger door must open normally
• Functioning seatbelts
• Brake lights
• Functioning windshield wipers, headlights, and taillights, depending on weather conditions and time of day

Motorcycle Skills

You will be required to have:

• Helmet
• Long pants
• Shoes that cover your feet.
• If you are renting a bike from C&C Cycle, please be sure to do so before the scheduled day of your test, as they are closed Sundays and Mondays. Bring receipt for proof of bike rental.
• If the ground is wet or it is raining we will cancel for the day and you will need reschedule.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF CHARITON MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!!!
DRIVER PERMIT TESTING IS AVAILABLE AT YOUR SCHOOL!!!

We are excited to offer the Skip the Trip driver knowledge testing program at CMS and CHS! Passing the knowledge test is the first requirement needed for an individual to advance through the Graduated Drivers Licensing process.

The operator’s knowledge test has historically only been available at Driver’s License Service Centers or at County Driver’s License stations, but now is available at your school through an online portal. Skip the Trip provides an opportunity to work with you so that less time is spent away from school, work, and other activities by accessing the testing requirement in a more convenient location.

Scheduled and Recurring Property Tax Payments:

We are pleased to offer one-time scheduled tax payments and recurring monthly property tax payments through this website.  Payments can be scheduled using either a credit card or e-check.  For additional information click here or call (641 ) 774-5213 opt 5. 

General Information:

Discover, Mastercard, and Visa are accepted for Internet and In-Office Transactions.  E-Check is also accepted for Internet Transactions.

The following fees will be applied:
PIN Debit - $2.00 flat fee
Credit Card -  2.25% of transaction
eCheck - $0.25 flat fee

A $30.00 returned check fee will be assessed on any payments returned due to insufficient funds.
