This site will provide you 24/7 access to pay property taxes and motor vehicle registration renewals. Along with access to motor vehicle, driver's license and property tax forms and assistance determining what documents are needed to be brought with you before making a trip to the office.

2018 Property Taxes
  Payable September 2019 and March 2020

                          For The Time Period July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019
                                 Based On Valuation As Of January 1, 2018

 

Effective January 1, 2020 the Bremer County Treasurer’s Office will require a complete bill of sale when transferring titles/registrations between private parties.

A $30.00 returned fee will be assessed on any payments returned.

Pay Online: Discover, MasterCard, Visa and e-Check are accepted for Internet Transactions.

                                          

Payment Methods Accepted in the Bremer County Treasurer's Office:

  • Cash (U.S. Currency Only)
  • Credit Cards (Service delivery fee applies)
  • Debit Cards (Service delivery fee applies)
  • Checks, Money Orders or Cashier's Checks possessing an American Bank Association (ABA) routing number

 

PROPERTY TAXES     -   When paying property taxes by parcel number please enter the 10 digit parcel number which appears in the bottom right corner of either payment stub or enter your name in the find my parcel number field, enter the last name followed by a comma then the first name.

If paying by e-Check, you will be asked to enter the Receipt number. the number is located in the top right hand corner of each payment stub, on your tax statement.

 

MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION RENEWALS    -  You are not eligible to renew online unless you received a renewal notice that contained a PIN number.

 

All payments must possess an American Bank Association (ABA) routing number.

 

Veteran Designation:

Iowa veterans can now add a Veteran designation to their drivers license or nonoperator identification cards. 

A customer may obtain a veteran designation on their driver’s license or ID card if they present a DD 214 directly to the DOT that indicates they served active duty and they were honorably discharged. OR  A customer may submit a form to the DOT that was completed by a designee of the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs. Iowa Code 321.189.

  • Driver’s License..........................................Monday - Friday by Appointment Only
    • Written Tests......................................Monday - Friday by Appointment Only
       

      You have 60 days of driving privileges after the expiration date, in Iowa.

      You can renew on-line at https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/renew

      OR

      File for a 6 MONTH EXTENSION of IOWA DRIVER’S LICENSE, -If your driver’s license expired, you are encouraged to apply online for a 6 month extension, by submitting DOT form #430027 (05-20) online or print and mail or email it to the Iowa Department of Transportation.  

      The form is available at https://iowadot.gov.       

      PERMITS and UPGRADES can be done online

      SKIP THE TRIP-Teen drivers have the option to take the web-knowledge test at home. Parents will need to apply to administer the test by visiting www.iowadot.gov. Once the student has passed the test they can schedule an appointment to be issued their permit.

      UPGRADE ONLINE-Minors can upgrade online from permit or minor school license to the Intermediate License or from Intermediate License to a Full Privilege License.

      • ALL drive test requires Proof of Insurance
      • Motorcycle Skills Testing requires the pavement to be dry and use of protective gear.
        • Helmet          Long Pants      Shoes (must cover feet completely, NO sandals or flip flops)

**ATTENTION CDL HOLDERS** - Federal regulations require you to bring proof of citizenship or lawful presence to renew or upgrade your CDL. Please call our office at 319-352-2615 to determine the documents you will need to bring with you.

2019 Tax Sale Information - The 2019 Bremer County Tax Sale will begin at 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2019. Bidders shall place their bids online.
