Accepted On-Line Payment Methods are e-Check, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.    

Payments for Driver's License accepted in the office are cash, check, debit or credit card. 

There is an additional fee to use a debit or credit card.  $2.00 for debit and 2.25% for credit.

Payments for Taxes or Motor Vehicle accepted in the office are cash, check, debit or credit card.

There is a drop box located on the north side of the courthouse for after hours business.

Vehicle Renewals:
If your vehicle registration is delinquent, the vehicle does not qualify for online renewal. 

 Half year license and apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal at this time.  

Vehicle Transfers:

UPDATE:  A bill of sale is now required for all vehicle transfers.

TAX SALE INFORMATION:

    The 2023 Cherokee County Tax Sale will be held online.  The online tax sale will begin at 10:00 am on Monday June 17, 2024.    The sale will be conducted at the Cherokee County Courthouse temporary location, 322 Lake St, Cherokee, IA  51012.

            Bidders shall place their bids online. 

Bidders need not be present at the courthouse as the tax sale will take place online.  All bids must be placed online.  Live bids will not be accepted.
