Response to COVID-19: On March 20, Governor Reynolds announced the temporary suspension of penalties and interest for delayed property tax payments until May 27, 2020. As of May 27th the new proclamation states the penalties and interest will now be due by June 25, 2020. Taxes will still be marked delinquent if they are not paid by March 31, but late interest and penalty on property tax payments will NOT apply until JUNE 25, 2020.

2019 TAX SALE WILL BE ONLINE
2019 Tax Sale Information - The 2019 Winnebago County Tax Sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019. The Sale will be conducted at the Winnebago County Courthouse and bidders shall place their bids online. Bidders need not be present at the courthouse. If you wish to attend the sale in person, a limited number of computers will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Wireless internet access will be available for bidders using their own laptop. Please note, all bids must be placed online. Live bids will not be accepted. Pay Property Taxes
If you opt to pay your property tax by eCheck you will be asked to enter a receipt number as your PIN number. Your receipt number is located in the bottom right hand corner of your tax statement.
You must search the payment engine by last name or parcel number only do not include the District.
Current tax payments are due September 30, 2020 for the 1st half and March 31, 2021 for the 2nd half. Late payments will accrue interest at 1.5% per month.
You can now access the Assessor Property Information on each parcel from Step 3 of the property tax application.

When renewing your vehicles either by mail or in the office please include your renewal notice with payment.
Pay Your Vehicle tags
Your renewal notice must contain a PIN number to renew online. If you have a vehicle that a Heavy Use Tax Form is required the first installment cannot be paid online,(this is an enhancement that will be available in the future.) Fire Fighter Plates, State Stops, and County Stops cannot be paid online.
Drivers License Information:
You may renew 30 day before and 60 days after your birthdate.
Driver License Knowledge Testing must be started by 3:30.
Drive tests Monday - Friday by appointment call 641-585-5387. Proof of vehicle insurance is required.
**ATTENTION CDL HOLDERS** - Federal regulations require you to bring proof of citizenship or lawful presence to renew or upgrade your CDL. Please call our office at 641-585-2322 to determine the documents you will need to bring with you.

Veteran Designation:
Iowa Veterans can now add a Veteran designation to their drivers license or nonoperator identification cards. PLEASE NOTE, this designation can only be added when the license or identification card is being renewed, or if you are being issued for the first time. A link to the required form can be found by clicking here. Your County's Veterans Affairs office will need to complete part of that form before the designation can be added to your drivers license or identification card. Please share this post to help spread the word to Veterans.
