           The U. S. Dept. of State has authorized the tax dept. of the Treasurer's office to accept passport applications on their behalf.  U.S. citizens may apply for their passports at our office, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 2:30 pm, without an appointment.  Visit  the official website - www.travel.state.govfor forms, documentation required, fees and other valuable information.  (2 checks are needed for payment)





     2018 Tax Sale Information - The 2018 Lyon County Tax Sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018.  The Sale will be conducted at the Lyon County Courthouse and bidders will place their bids online. If you wish to attend the sale in person, a limited number of computers will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  Registration must be completed online at www.iowataxauction.com by June 14, 2018.  Wireless internet access is not available for bidders using their own laptop.  Please note, all bids must be placed online.  Live bids will not be accepted.  The 2018 Tax Sale listing is published in the June 7th edition of the Doon Press. Accepted On-Line Payment Methods-eCheck, Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted for Internet transactions.  Any transaction returned for insufficient funds will be charged a fee of $25.00.

Vehicle Renewals: 
 You are eligible to renew online if you received a renewal notice through US Postal Service that contains a PIN NUMBER.  Renewals for half year license, apportioned vehicles, and specialized plates requiring annual documentation are NOT eligible for online renewal at this time. Also, if SR22 Proof of Insurance is required or you owe state or county debts, you are NOT eligible for online renewal at this time.  ( This is an enhancement that will be available in the future!!)

I would like to welcome you to the Lyon County Treasurers’ Home Page!!  It is our goal to provide you with the information you need to contact us and to conveniently conduct business with this office 24 hours a day - 7 days a week.  There are four main areas of operation for the Treasurer’s office, namely, the collection of property taxes for all real estate, mobile homes and special assessments in Lyon County, the issuance of vehicle titles and registrations and the collection of all vehicle fees for the residents of Lyon County, the issuance and renewals of driver’s licenses, and is also responsible for financial administration, banking services, cash management and investments for the county.

.It is our goal to provide quality and courteous customer service to the residents of Lyon County and to anyone doing business with any of the departments of the Lyon County Treasurer’s Office.
